1. Introduction

VenuePal ("the App") is developed and operated by Luke Smith (Appgroup UK). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect the information you provide when using the App. We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Information we collect

When you use VenuePal we may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: email address and authentication tokens when you sign up via email, Apple Sign‑In, or Google Sign‑In.
  • Venue visit data: information you enter about your visits to venues (for example notes, visit time, and any details you choose to store).
  • Device and diagnostics: limited technical information and app analytics collected automatically via third‑party SDKs (see section 4).

We do not collect any unnecessary personal information beyond what is described above.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the app and its features.
  • Manage user accounts and authentication.
  • Improve app performance, stability and user experience.
  • Support approved internal company use of aggregated or identifiable data where necessary for business operations.

We do not sell or share your personal data with unauthorised third parties.

4. Third‑party services

VenuePal integrates the following third‑party services which may process limited technical or account data to provide their functionality:

  • Google — used for Google Sign‑In and associated services.
  • Firebase — used for analytics, crash reporting and authentication backend.
  • Apple Sign‑In — used for secure sign‑in with Apple accounts.

Each provider has its own privacy policy and terms which you can review directly on their websites.

5. Data storage & security

Your data is stored securely and we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. Data may be stored in cloud services used by Firebase and related providers and may be located inside or outside the UK — all processing is subject to appropriate data protection safeguards.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services and meet legal obligations. If you delete your account, associated personal data will be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict processing, where applicable.

8. Children

VenuePal is primarily intended for adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published at https://appgroup.co.uk/venuepal-privacy-policy along with the effective date.
